This Payment Information page explains the payment methods available at The Pilates Room and provides full transparency on online payment processing fees, including Stripe charges and how they are calculated. Our goal is to ensure clarity and trust for all clients making purchases online or in-studio.

1. Accepted Payment Methods

The Pilates Room accepts the following payment methods:

1.1 Online Payments (Website / Stripe Checkout)

• Credit Cards (Visa / Mastercard)

• Debit Cards

• GrabPay

• FPX Online Banking

• Apple Pay (if supported by the device)

• Google Pay (if supported by the device)

1.2 In-Studio Payments

• Cash

• Bank Transfer

• DuitNow

• QR Pay (when available)

In-studio payments do not incur Stripe processing fees.

2. Stripe Processing Fees (Online Payments)

All online transactions through our website are securely processed by Stripe, a global PCI-compliant payment gateway.

Stripe charges a standard fee for processing online payments in Malaysia:

Credit/Debit Cards:
3% + RM 1 per transaction

GrabPay, FPX, and other wallets may have different rates, which are automatically displayed at checkout.

Important:
The Pilates Room does not add any markup or profit on these Stripe fees.
Clients pay the exact amount that Stripe charges.

3. How Online Payment Totals Are Calculated

To ensure full transparency, the final amount displayed during online checkout includes:

• The Pilates Room package price

• Stripe’s processing fee

• (Automatically calculated at checkout)

The formula for credit/debit card transactions is:

Total Payable = Package Price + (Package Price × 0.03) + RM 1

Where:

• 0.03 = Stripe’s 3% fee

• RM 1 = Stripe’s fixed fee per transaction

4. Example Calculations

These examples demonstrate exactly how Stripe fees affect your total online payment:

Example 1
Package Price: RM 1,000
Stripe Fee: RM 1,000 × 3% = RM 30
Fixed Fee: RM 1
Total Payable: RM 1,000 + RM 31 = RM 1,031

Example 2
Package Price: RM 3,600
Stripe Fee: RM 3,600 × 3% = RM 108
Fixed Fee: RM 1
Total Payable: RM 3,600 + RM 109 = RM 3,709

Example 3
Package Price: RM 800
Stripe Fee: RM 800 × 3% = RM 24
Fixed Fee: RM 1
Total Payable: RM 800 + RM 25 = RM 825

These amounts will be clearly shown at the time of checkout.

5. Why Stripe Fees Are Applied

Stripe fees cover:

• Secure transaction processing

• Fraud prevention

• Bank interchange fees

• Instant payment verification

• Encrypted data handling

• Automatic receipts and payment confirmations

These fees are charged directly by Stripe and are standard worldwide.
They are not controlled or altered by The Pilates Room.

Clients who prefer to avoid Stripe fees may choose to pay via:

• Cash

• Bank transfer

• DuitNow

6. Refunds & Stripe Fees

If a refund is issued for duplicate payments or technical errors (as detailed in our Returns & Refunds Policy):

• Only the package amount will be refunded

• Stripe’s processing fee (3% + RM 1) is non-refundable

This is because Stripe does not return processing fees for refunded transactions.

7. Security of Online Payments

All online payments are:

• Fully encrypted

• Processed through secured HTTPS connections

• Handled by Stripe’s PCI-compliant system

• Never stored on The Pilates Room website or servers

Your card information is not visible to The Pilates Room at any time.
